Venue: CCHS-CSIC, Albasanz St., 26-28 (Madrid) & online
Organized by: Catalina Martínez (IPP-CSIC)
The European Policy for Intellectual Property Association, EPIP, will hold its 16th Annual Conference in Madrid from 8 to 10 September 2021: "EPIP2021: Intellectual Property and the Future of Innovation".
EPIP is an international, independent, interdisciplinary and non-profit association of researchers, which has become over the years one of the main European platforms for analysis and debate on industrial and intellectual property systems and intangible assets. It aims to promote research on the economic, legal, managerial, social, political and historical aspects of intellectual property rights at national, European and international level. All forms of intellectual property are relevant, be they patents, copyrights, trademarks, plant breeders' rights, geographical indications, design rights, trade secrets or others. Nearly 200 participants academics and professionals with expertise in economic, management, legal and policy aspects of intellectual property attend the association's conference each year, which is held in a different European city each time.
This is the first time it will be held in Madrid. It will be a hybrid event, with some speakers and participants on-site and others connected online from other cities and countries. The physical venue of the event is the Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, and there will also be a virtual venue, on a videoconferencing platform. The international organising committee is chaired by Catalina Martínez, tenured scientist at the Institute of Public Goods and Policies (CSIC-IPP) and vice-president of EPIP. The conference is supported by OEPM, EUIPO, USPTO and the Fundación Pons, as well as by the projects IRP-ALLIES and MIMA-CM.
