Se publica el libro War and Cultural Heritage. Biographies of Place, editado por Marie Louise Stig Sorensen y Dacia Viejo-Rose (University of Cambridge), y con la participación de Carmen Ortiz (Instituto de Historia, CCHS-CSIC). Es el primer libro con resultados del proyecto del Séptimo Programa Marco de la Unión Europea, Cultural Heritage and the Reconstruction of Identities after Conflict (CRIC).

El Pinar: factores sociales relacionados con el desarrollo rural en un pueblo español de Joseph Buenaventura Aceves, edición de Luis Díaz González-Viana (ILLA, CCHS-CSIC) y Susana Asensio Llamas, es el título del nuevo libro publicado en la colección "De acá y de allá, fuentes etnográficas" de Editorial CSIC.

José Ramón Marcaida López publica su primer libro titulado "Arte y Ciencia en el Barroco español: historia natural, coleccionismo y cultura visual" (Marcial Pons, 2014), versión revisada de su tesis doctoral, realizada en el CSIC bajo la dirección de Juan Pimentel (IH, CCHS-CSIC). Con esta publicación obtuvo el Premio Internacional Alfonso E. Pérez Sánchez 2013 de la Fundación FOCUS-ABENGOA en su cuarta edición.

The studies brought together in this volume provide an important contribution to the history of dimmi-s in the medieval dar al-islam, and more generally to the legal history of religious minorities in medieval societies. The central question addressed is the legal status accorded to dimmi-s (Jews and Christians) in the Muslim law in the medieval Muslim west (the Maghreb and Muslim Spain).The scholars whose work is brought together in these pages have dealt with a rich and complex variety of legal sources. Many of the texts are from the Maliki legal tradition; they include fiqh, fatwa-s, hisba manuals.
